object [almost]

This is a report about an exhibition called "MARAVEE 2008 RECYCLE".

Re-design is the theme of the exhibition in Torviscosa, a "foundation town" placed in the North-East of Italy, beetween Venice and Trieste.

The ancient tower of this industrial site is the location for showing some eco-design works. A connection is suggeted between the sphere of industrial production and the contemporary themes of waste and re-use.

While looking out of the windows of this 50 meter high tower and watching the industrial archeology of factories which produced an artificial fibre from cellulose, you can see - in opposition - some objects made using creative recycle.

Once again a way to re-think objects in ecological therms.

Some works (see photos added in the group "Trieste"):

1. Pet-Lights:plastic bottles filled up by waste domestic materials and assembled to create ecological and decorative lamps [by Walking Chair Studio]

2. Bottleboy: coloured plastic bottles used as clothes-hooks [by Walking Chair Studio]

3.Old bicycle tubes become original rubber bags [by Karin Maislinger].

4. Old glass bottles are trasformed in decorative pots just by cutting their tips [by F Maurer]
